Ryan Semrau

Ryan Semrau is a native of Rocky Mount, North Carolina. He moved to Arizona in 1997 and graduated from Desert Vista High School in '99. Mr. Semrau then attended Arizona State University on a  music scholarship and graduated in the Spring of '04. His first teaching position was in Tempe Union High School District at Marcos de Niza High School.

For three years, he taught at Paradise Valley High School as the Director of Bands. Under his direction, the Paradise Valley band program traveled nationally and achieved numerous "Superior" and "Superior with Distinction" awards at marching, concert, jazz and percussion festivals.  At CHS, Mr. Semrau instructs JV and Concert Band, Basic Music Theory, Percussion Ensemble, Jazz Band, and assists with the Marching Band.  

The Jazz Band has received numerous Superior with Distinction awards in his short time at CHS. He is beginning his fourth year at Chandler High School.
